KrAZ Armored Personnel Carrier

KrAZ- APC  is built based on a chassis and cab of 4x4 KrAZ-5233HE all-terrain militarytruck. This multirole vehicle is used for carrying personnel of military units and their fire support, for the purpose it can be provided with state-of-the-art weapon systems, active and passive protection systems. KrAZ- APC demilitarized version can be used for carrying personnel of peace-support missions and other persons in conflict zones.

The vehicle accommodate up to 14 dismounts plus the crew of two. Firing ports are optional. Normally troops enter and leave the vehicle via rear power-operated ramp. Also there is a door for the troops on the left for emergency exit. Commander and driver use their own doors.

Vehicle has a V-shaped hull. It withstands blasts equivalent to 8 kg of TNT anywhere under the hull. Hull provides protection against 7.62x39 mm armor-piercing rounds.

Vehicle can be fitted with remotely controlled weapon module. Typically these modules are armed with 7.62-mm or 12.7-mm machine guns or 40-mm automatic grenade launchers.

The vehicle's passenger  cell is protected according  to STANAG 4569:
